I ordered these bowls to use for large salads. I used to have 3 sets of the spaghetti service bowl and 4 individual bowls. Over the years the smaller bowls broke for various reasons. I still have the large bowls, but don't use them and have been searching for large heavy duty "salad" bowls. These are perfect. I don't see them breaking easily and they are perfect if you are making large salads for dinner.
